London History Day

On Friday 24th May children at Essex Primary School took part in London History Day. It was an event endorsed by the Mayor of London. We had a whole school assembly in which we discussed the importance of looking at our local history and advised children on places they could visit with their families for free. We also got to award children, who were wearing fantastic outfits related to London, with certificates. The children really made an amazing effort to dress up in costumes depicting many historical figures related to London.

Children were able to talk confidently about their chosen topic and some children created fantastic learning. Each year group’s learning was displayed on a corridor wall.
