During the week commencing 7th October 2019, the children of Year 1 went an interesting excursion of the local area around Essex Primary School.
The purpose of this visit was to promote a greater understanding of what is present in the children’s local community. They got the chance to experience the richness of our diverse society and witness a variety of contrasting buildings.
The children were able to see the architectural changes the area has gone through over the years, acknowledging the old versus the new. Spotting the old library to the new one for example. Noticing the changes the houses have undertaken over the years, ignited interesting conversation from the children too.
Overall, the children gained great knowledge of their local community and all the great things that coexist with them.
