Holiday activities

Winter and the festive season is finally here with us and we have produced an extensive winter activities programme brochure, for Newham’s Children and young people. The brochure contains information about all the free activities on offer, the dates and the venues.

For families who are in receipt of benefits related free school meals, the Council is making a nutritious meal offer available during the school break.

Newham library services

There are ten libraries across Newham, each offering a range of services and community activities. As well as a fantastic selection of books and other reading material of course. Many of our libraries have a busy schedule of regular activities to suit all ages and tastes, from parent and toddler sessions, reading groups and chess to knitting, over 50s club and gentle exercise.

Self Care

Young people told us that when they are struggling they are usually told to see a professional. They don’t often get much advice about how they could help themselves.

So, we spoke to professionals and looked at academic research. Then we drew up a list of strategies young people use which can be found on the link below.
