Welcome to Essex Primary School! I am delighted to introduce you to our vibrant and inclusive learning community, where every child is valued, challenged and is supported to reach their full potential.

At Essex Primary School, we are committed to providing a nurturing and dynamic environment where our pupils can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. We firmly believe that every child deserves the very best education and the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.

As highlighted in our February 2025 Ofsted report, “Pupils flourish at this welcoming and aspirational school. They know they are kept safe and can name a member of staff they would talk to if they had any concerns.” This feedback reflects the strong sense of care and security that we work hard to create, where children feel supported and confident in their learning journey.

Our inclusive practices are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to ensure that all children, regardless of their individual needs or abilities, have the resources and support they need to succeed. Whether it’s through tailored learning plans, extra-curricular activities, or simply creating a safe space for every child to express themselves, we believe in removing barriers to learning and fostering a sense of belonging for all.

As Executive Head Teacher, I am deeply passionate about improving children’s life chances. I am dedicated to ensuring that every pupil has the tools, skills, and confidence they need to go on to achieve their dreams and aspirations. At Essex Primary School, we are not only preparing children for academic success but for life beyond the classroom, equipping them with the resilience, creativity, and curiosity they will need to succeed in an ever-changing world.

This week, year 4 took part in an art workshop in partnership with Bow Arts to develop our exciting new art curriculum. They have taken inspiration from Roman mosaics and the artists Niki de Saint Phalle and Tony Cragg, to create their final art piece, ‘Monstrous Mosaics’.

This week, Essex Primary School hosted The Royal Institution, who came in to perform 'Explosive Food' for our KS1 cohort. The pupils found the show extremely entertaining and they learned: exactly how much food it requires to jump, and that flour is extremely flammable.

Year 4 pupils enjoyed a visit to the British Museum as part of their topic work on Romans. Pupils were extremely excited to see the antiques. They were intrigued to know how coins have changed over the years and what equipment was used for surgical purposes during the Roman era.

World Book Day is a brilliant celebration of reading and an
opportunity to discover new authors and illustrators. The pupils took part in many activities through the day. A remarkable effort from pupils by dressing up as their favourite book characters!

WHAT MAKES ESSEX SPECIAL

Our blend of language and cultures makes Essex a wonderful colourful environment, which instills respect for one another.

This has been incorporated in our daily learning through the use of our ‘rights’ as we are a Rights Respecting School and we take great pride in this.

At Essex we pride ourselves in delivering engaging and inspiring music performances led by professional musicians from around the world.

We also work with different enterprises such as the National Theatre and UNICEF.
