Florence Nightingale Museum – Year 2 Visit

This week, Year 2 pupils had the opportunity to visit the Florence Nightingale Museum, to understand why Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole are famous. At the museum, pupils had some time to explore the artefacts. Pupils participated in an interactive performance by ‘Florence’ who spoke at length about her experiences growing up. These events led her to become a nurse and her experiences of helping soldiers during the Crimean War. They also learned about how she helped improve the state of hospitals, developed the nursing profession and how her contributions impact our lives today. Our pupils enjoyed a busy, informative, wonder-filled day that will stay with them for years.
