This week, Essex participated in ‘Anti-Bullying Week’. To highlight the importance of the week, staff and pupils wore odd socks on Monday to stand against bullying. Pupils learnt the importance of banter vs. bullying and to recognise that bullying is repetitive, negative behaviour with the intent to harm, whereas banter is friendly teasing. Pupils realised that banter can become bullying if the intentions are wrong. In keeping with this year’s theme, ‘Make a Noise!’ As a school, we declared that ‘BULLYING IS NOT WELCOME IN ESSEX PRIMARY SCHOOL!’.
