Year 6 Bow Arts Workshop

This week, the year 6 pupils have had the wonderful experience of working with Sara from Bow Arts to enhance their skills in drawing. The pupils first learnt about the different styles of drawing using different techniques, such as mark making, cross hatching, tone drawing and stippling, to give different effects. They then trialed different drawing implements such as grading pencils, marker pens and charcoal to identify different textures and the effects they show. Finally, the pupils spent some time recreating their own artwork showing movement on A3 paper using charcoal and different grading pencils and the different techniques they learnt about. All the pieces that were created were brilliant with some amazing artwork going on display. The pupils were thoroughly engaged throughout the whole session and loved the experience. We hope this was inspirational to those future artists and they can all take these techniques with them to secondary school and further!
