Jurassic Essex

This week, Reception pupils were lucky enough to be visited by a fantastic team of archaeologists and some terrifyingly authentic dinosaurs. Pupils took part in an archaeological dig, exploring dinosaur fossils. They were taught to use the fossils to identify which dinosaurs they came from. Afterwards, each Reception class came face to face with a life-size Tyrannosaurus Rex and a baby Pterodactyl.  When pupils had stopped screaming with delight and terror, they had an opportunity to stroke the dinosaurs and ask questions about the life of dinosaurs.

“Don’t bite me,” said Umar as he gently stroked the dinosaur. “I  think this is a dinosaur skull,”  said Nyra as she looked closely at the fossils.  “I love dinosaurs!” shouted Khairan.
