This week, Year 6 were fortunate enough to visit the East London Buddhist Cultural Centre, where they learned about the history of Buddhism, the culture and practices of a modern Buddhist and the values that the religion holds. Ryan from Helleborine said that he learned it is important to respect all living things, a core value of the Buddhist religion. Amira from Wintergreen said that she found it interesting that a person as young as 7 could start the journey to becoming a Buddhist monk! Thank you to the ELBCC for being such fantastic hosts!
